Forming new habits to grow your online business

Most of life is habitual. You do the same things you did yesterday, the day before and the day before that.   As a general rule, we stumble into bad habits.  This is good news.  This means we can learn good habits. 

Do you want to achieve success and avoid failure?

Success and failure are simply habits, and the good news is that good habits are just as difficult to break as bad ones.  Think about it, would you stop taking a shower for a month if I payed you $100 dollars.  Probably not.  Why?  Because good habits of feeling clean are hard to break. 

If you have previously failed at building a successful online business, then read on.

Motivation is the key that gets us started on the road to success.  Good habits good habits are the fuel that keeps us moving forward and making progress.  Good habits can escalate and lead to an upward spiral just as easy as bad habits lead to downward spirals.  Each good habit we learn will free us up to be able to focus on bigger and better things.

Yesterday was one of those days where you just grind away at the chores of Internet Marketing.  I finished an ebook and uploaded it to one of my niche sites.  I created some messages for my auto responder and created a new optin box for the niche site.

Unfortunately, I didn’t do some of the things that I wanted to!  I have my daily To Do List:

• check and answer emails
• comment on other popular blogs
• write an entry for each of my growing niche blog sites (at least every other day)
• work on social media sites
• visit niche forums
• work on list building

But here’s the deal:

I also want to create a Squidoo lens, a Hub page and an ezine article for each keyword.That’s a LOT of writing!  So, while I get some stuff done, by the time the end of my day comes I realize that those pesky articles aren’t done.

If you haven’t figured out by now that Internet marketing is hard work, I am here to tell you – it is!  but I really love it!  The folks I communicate with are great.  The freedom to build your own business is great.  Writing your own paycheck is (going to be) great!

How many of you are tired of the hype from online marketers?  Yea me too!

A quick look around the Internet and you will notice three things. 1: Hype … 2. Hype … 3. More Hype.

Honestly, I’m sick of the hype. I don’t fall for it anymore and you must say “NO” to hype too if you want to have any chance of making progress in your online business!

The other day we talked about building your business around trust.  How can you build your business around trust if all you do is market hype to your customer.  Todays customer is just like you are tired of all the hype.

You need to learn to be truthful with what your online offering.  You can’t rely on gimmicks or flashy things.

I believe that in this industry we are going to see even more backlash in the future for those that continue to push hype.

Rely on integrity.  Rely on the fact that you are offering a real solution that is sincere.  Build your reputation of being honest and trustworthy.  There are many successful marketers that are honest and trustworthy and those are the ones that I follow and want to emulate.
