Tomorrow starts the beginning of the Barry Wells (http://barry-wells.com) Internet Marketing Video Challenge and I have accepted the challenge…So let the challenge begin…tomorrow that is.

Barry did this same challenge last year and my video then was on Affiliate Marketing Lesson – Why and How to Cloak Affiliate Links.

This year the challenge is a little different.  Instead of doing just one video, the challenge is to do at least one video a week for the month of March or at least until March 29th.

I first want to say that I can not believe it has been 2 weeks since I last posted about my niche adventure.

I know it has been too long since I posted when one of my buddy’s from church, Ted from Praise the Lard BBQ, said something to me. He was giving me a hard time about not posting recently. The thing is, he is right, it should not have taken so long but I do have a good reason…well a good reason for me.

Well, I have not accomplished much since I last posted. Two weeks ago I was extremely busy at my “job” and last week was spring break and I promised my family I would not get on the computer and do any work – It was total family time. And to be honest, I really enjoyed the time spent with my family – we all had a great time together.

I did check the stats on the articles. I am happy with the amount of views on most of the articles, however it is not translating to website views as I would have liked. That’s okay because the purpose of submitting the articles was two fold – getting backlinks to increase my Google rankings for my money keywords and to drive traffic to the site.

I have been doing a lot of reading lately and most of it has been about how to succeed at building an online business.  While this is very helpful information for me I thought I would put a different twist on this issue.

8 Reasons For Not Building a Successful Online Business

1. Technophobia- You might be scared of the technical side of setting up an online business.  You might be worried about how to set-up a website, getting a domain name, or even creating a sales page or a squeeze page.  The truth is…it is not as hard as you think it is.  I had these same worries and I was able to do all of these and so can you.  I recommend using GoDaddy.com.  There are plenty of websites/registrars where you can purchase a domain name.  Domain Sale! $7.49 .com at GoDaddy when you use this link.  I also recommend you use a separate hosting account to host your domain name.  I recommend either HostGator (starting at $4.95 per month for a 3 year contract of $6.95 for a 1 year contract) or BlueHost ($6.95 per month).  Both hosting accounts are very easy to use and set-up.
