I wanted to let you all know about a great opportunity to start building your list.
There is a great new giveaway event that starts this Friday, June 11th.
http://worldcupgiveaway.net/go/331/jv
The World Cup Giveaway is hosted by Paul Wilson and David Walker. Both of these internet marketers have built five-figure subscriber lists. So these guys know how to build a subscriber list.
For this event they are also offering up an incredible $1,000 prize pool for the most active promoters!
That means that this event is going to receive a LOT more traffic than the usual giveaways you see online.
I advise you to get in now so you can promote the giveaway to your own list and earn commissions before the event launches on
June 11th.
Here’s the contributor link again so you can add your free gifts:

By clicking on the link above and joining as a contributor/JV partner, I will earn a 20 point credit that helps with my ranking status. If you join as a normal member, I will earn 0.5 points
Get started building your list today!

As I sit here and right this post, I am excited to see how everyone is doing with the traffic challenge. The anticipation of the end of the challenge is starting to weigh me down. I am hopeful that I can win the challenge.
The challenge has been a wonderful exercise for me. It has made me stay motivated to work hard and get traffic to my blog.
As the challenge winds down I hope I can remain as motivated.
Traffic Driving Techniques
This past week I have continued to blog comment. I have been commenting on current MarketingWithAlex.com 3.0 students but I have also branched out and started commenting on previous students as well as other “big fish”.
I have been making some posts on Twitter but I honestly I do not post enough and I have not gotten much traffic.
I did create one Squidoo lens – http://www.squidoo.com/get-free-traffic. I have only gotten a few visitors from this lens but I have not done very much promotion for it yet. I do plan to create some more lenses.
I have continued to do some participation in forums. Not as much as I would like; I know I can do better.

Only 2 more weeks until the end of the MarketingWithAlex 3.0 student Traffic Generation Challenge.
I can’t believe 2 weeks have alread passed since the competition began.
I have continued to participate in different forums, Tweet and continued to oil rig hop. I have received a decent amount of traffic from the different forums and from Twitter. Most of the traffic has been from oil rig hopping.
Last week in the MarketingWithAlex.com 3.0 coaching classes we talked about the different ways to drive free (sometimes called organic) traffic to your blog or website.
Three of those ways to drive free traffic are Forum Marketing, Article Marketing, and Squidoo Marketing.
I am working on a couple of articles but I have not finished them yet. I hope to finish them in the next couple of days.
To illustrate the use of Squidoo Marketing, I created a Squidoo lens called – 3 Fastest Ways to Getting Free Traffic.
When you get a chance check out the new Free Traffic lens and let me know what you think. Did I explain Forum Marketing, Article Marketing, and Squidoo Marketing so you can understand how to implement these free traffic techniques?

The other day I had a reader that is not in the Alex Jeffreys coaching program email me and mentioned that I referred to Oil Rig Hopping in my post about How I Drive Traffic but he did not know what it meant. At that point I realized that I did not explain what oil rig hopping is, so I thought I better create a post to explain exactly what it means.
So, What is Oil Rig Hopping
Sorry but this has nothing to do with the recent oil rig explosion in the Gulf Coast.
Oil Rig Hopping is the process of getting free traffic to your blog and who doesn’t want free traffic, right?
My coach and mentor, Alex Jeffreys, uses this analogy when providing a way to drive traffic to your site.
Here are the basics of the analogy. An oil rig attracts algae, algae attracts clams, clams attract small fish, small fish attract big fish, big fish attract bigger fish, bigger fish attract sharks. Of course you cast your line(s) with you hook and bait to catch the fish. You ultimate goal is to catch the granddaddy of them all the shark.
