6 Blogging Mistakes To Avoid

Your blog is a place where you connect with your community of readers. There are a lot of bloggers that do not understand how to connect with their community. Connecting with others is not easy. Connecting is not just about writing your thoughts in your blog posts. Connecting with your community takes strategy and planning.

Today, lets look at 6 blogging mistakes that you need to avoid in order to help build your blogging community. If you want to be a successful blogger then you definitely need to avoid these mistakes:

Blogging Mistake #1 – Not Updating Your Blog On A Regular Schedule. I have seen quite a few blogs this past year that were started at the same time as I started my blog where the blogger is excited about the new blog and they start posting daily, sometimes even several times a day. Then a few weeks later they are posting less and less frequently until they get to the point of either posting very infrequently or stop posting all together. Nothing will kill your blog faster than a lack of keeping it updated with new posts. If you are going to blog then pick a posting frequency and stick to it. Whether you decide to post one a week or even several times a day, just make a commitment and stick with it.

How To Optimize Your Time Blogging

How many times have you gotten to the end of your day and you thought to yourself “I wish I had more time”?

Some of you (like myself) have a full-time day job, a family that needs your time and trying to build your online business after the kids get to bed.  With all this going on, how are you supposed to have enough to build your successful online business?

Some of you are building your online business full-time.  But, you still feel that you do not get enough accomplished some days.

I think that there are many things that we do each and every day that wastes our precious time.  With that being said, lets look at some time management tips that will help keep you on track and be more efficient with our precious time as you build your business.

11 Time Management Tips

Tip #1 - Don’t check your email first thing. Before you check your email in the morning, you need to first get some productive work done.  Should should work for 2 hours before you check your email.

Stop Your Blog From Being Invisible

how to stop you blog from being invisible

The Invisible Man

Do you sometimes get the feeling that your blog is the invisible man?

You work hard to create your blog posts.  You spend a lot of time coming up with a catchy title and coming up with great content to share with others.  You submit your site to social bookmarking sites so you can get tons of traffic back to your blog post.  You link to popular blogs hoping they will notice you and hopefully get a link in return.

However, you look at your blog stats and practically nobody visits your blog.

It seems as though people could care less about what you are writing about on you blog even though you know the content is great.  Most of the people that stop on you blog never leave a comment and the few that do leave a comment usually tell you that “you are doing a great job” and “keep up the good work”.

So the question you are probably asking yourself is, what can I do to change this?

There is good news.  You can stop being invisibleand have more people visiting and leaving comments than ever before.

Are You Ignoring Your Readers?

don't ignore your blog readers

As blog owners we all dream of having thousands of blog readers.  As of right now I have 85 people that have subscribed to my RSS feed.  I also have quite a few (I never really counted) people that comment on my blog regularly (thanks to you all!).  Even though I want to grow my readership, I do know there are some people that do read my blog and find it interesting.  With that being said, ignoring those people would be a disservice to not only them but myself as well.

What’s Going On With These Blogs?

What I have noticed while doing some blog hopping recently, was there are many bloggers with large readerships that ignore their readers by never participating in the comment area.  I noticed there were quite a few questions that have gone un-answered.  I do not personally understand this.
