The competition has been laid down and now it’s game on. The competition is going to be tough and I need your help.
See, I joined the Alex Jeffreys 3.0 Coaching program about a month ago. Starting today there is a competition among the 500 students.
What is the competition?
It is a Traffic Generation competition. The competition is for current Alex Jeffreys coaching students and the objective of the competition is to see who can drive the most traffic to their blog in the next four weeks.
When is the deadline?
The competition ends June 7th.
What are the rules?
1. You must show proof of your traffic stats using google analytics.
2. You must write blog posts on how you are driving traffic to your blog.
What is the prize for the winner?
First of all, it is winner take all. There will be one prize given and they are:
- A total revamp of blog
- A unique website with product
How is the traffic measured?
Traffic will be measured using Google Analytics. For those that have not used Google Analytics, you need to. Google Analytics will help provide you with insights into your website traffic and marketing effectiveness. If you are using a blog, there is even a wordpress plugin you can use so you can see your stats from your dashboard.
If you need help with Google Analytics, below is a great video from a previous Alex Jeffreys student Dean Holland.
http://dean4.com/free-blog-tutorial-videos/installing-google-analytics
Now I have the Google Analytics traffic tracking set up, all I need to do is drive traffic to this site. This is where you come in…
What can you do to help?
I do admit that I am being selfish by asking for your help.
You can:
- Come back to my site often and comment on my posts.
- Invite your friends to checkout my site.
- Share the traffic techniques that work for you.
- Retweet each blog post using the Retweet button at the top of every post.
- Invite your Facebook friends to checkout my site.
- Bookmark the posts for others to see using the bookmark links below each post.
Basically I need all the help you can give to help drive as much traffic as I can to this site for the next four weeks.
What’s in it for you?
There are several things that I believe will be beneficial for you as a follower of MarketingWithRick.com. First, I will be able to share with you all the information and knowledge I am learning through this coaching program. Second, you will be able to learn this information without having to pay the kind of money I did to be in Alex’s coaching program.
I look forward to sharing my adventure with you so we can all learn together and build a successful online business.

Rick,
Good luck on the competition.
For me, participating in JV Giveaways has been the quickest way for me to build a subscriber list. As for a traffic technique, my stats show that I get most of my visits from Twitter. You should try to post to Twitter several times a day as many people are in different time zones and people look at their Twitter account at different times during the day.
Again good luck

Hey Rick,
Good blog post. You already have a mature blog and other good posts as well. That reminds me that I have to get my next blog post content (my story as Alex suggested all of us) up in the next day or 2.
Oh, and thanks for the google analytics link, still have to get that sorted which is a mandatory requirement for being in the competition
.
Appreciate you stopping by my blog and adding your valuable comments.
Look forward to work with you.
Cheers!

Hey Rick,
Great blog. I like the layout and the content. Really helpful on the All-in-One SEO plugin. I’ve always wondered what canonical URLs are…
Any luck with Twitter yet? I use WP to Twitter plugin to tweet my blog posts on my Twitter account as soon as they are published. It sometimes gets stuck but works most of the time pretty well.
See you in the competition, on the calls and in the forum.
Best of luck
Max

@Max,
Thanks for stopping by.
I am using the Twitter Tools plugin and it does leave post to Twitter. I am not seeing much traffic from Twitter. I do not have very many followers so I really need to start working on doing so.
Talk to you soon.

Hi Rick,
I won this competition as part of the 2.0 cohort and it was bloody hard work…
I got the bulk of my traffic from Twitter (had over 50k followers at the time) but I thought I’d give you a few tips to get more traffic:
1. Make sure all your blog posts are funnelled through EVERY platform you use – Twitter, Facebook (every link counts!)
2. Email your list, no matter what size you are at. You OWN that traffic source so send them back to your blog whenever you have updated it.
3. Hook up Aweber to update your Twitter feed automatically and squeeze a few more clicks to your blog.
4. Comment on other blogs, especially popula high-traffic blogs. Try and be one of the first 10 to comment. NINJA TRICK – lots of comments already? If you can, comment on the first reply and jump the queue…
5. Piggyback off the success of other blogs even more effectively by writing a guest post for them. As long as your post meets their guidelines they should publish it and you’ll get a ton more clicks than if you just commented on someone else’s post.
It’s hard work getting traffic in the beginning but these tips should get you going and help build your personal brand/authority/credibility along the way.
