2012 Online Affiliate Marketing Action Plan
Wow! We are only 10 days into 2012 and I feel like I am already behind. It is amazing how quickly I seem to get behind at times and other times I feel like I am ahead of the game.
I have been working on building backlinks to my affiliate sites but for some reason this task seems harder for me right now.
2012 Online Affiliate Marketing Action Plan
I have realized that I need to go back and look at my 2012 Online Affiliate Marketing Action Plan.
I am excited about my plans this year and making money as an online affiliate marketer.
If you are wondering why then I have some good news for you.
I can visualize my path to success and many exciting achievements that lies ahead for this year.
Do you have an action plan for 2012?
Most people never plan,therefore setting themselves up to make no money.
I know how this feels because I have been there myself when first getting started.
In a nutshell here are my plans to promote Amazon products in the coming year.
Step 1: Set Up A Yearly Promotional Calendar
This is not a marketing calendar or business plan. This step for me is a very specific tangible activity that is designed to give me a clear vision for the year.
I have this sticky easel pad paper hanging on my wall. On it I list the 12 months of the year. For each month I have the physical products that I will promote during the year.
For example in January I have already started promoting Valentines Day gifts. I am actually a little late with this as I should have probably started in November last year.
At the end of January I have “Mothers Day” on my calendar because it is in May. I have flowers, gift bags, jewelry, etc on my list of promotional items in January
For February I have wedding favors. Yes wedding favors I know but April/May the season kicks off with weddings.
Basically I need to start working and promoting 4 months in advance of the holiday.
Also, every month I have a list of products that I will promote. I think I need to go ahead and decide on specific makes and model numbers of items.
This calendar keeps me on track. This keeps me focused and gives me a mental checklist of items that is going to earn me money this year.
Step 2- Daily Success Rituals For Making Money in 2012
Before starting this, I would get up in the morning and figure out what I wanted to do for the day. Guess what happened? I did not get very much done.
I finally figured out that if I am going to succeed I need to schedule my time in order to be productive.
I have also learned that I need to get very specific with my time slots.
So for example, the time slot 8am to 10 am might look something like this:
8:00-8:45 Research for new products based on calendar
8:45-9:30 Write product review
9:30 9:45 Find and add photos to product review post.
9:45-:10:00 Review Google Analytics to check stats.
I do this because I know what I want to do and get done. I try to have very few unplanned hours during the work day.
It really comes down to doing your daily planning in advance and then more importantly executing what is on your plan.
Now I realize that everyone’s plan will be different. Some people will do most of the work themselves, like me and other will outsource some or most of the work. You may have a full time or part time job and have limited hours you can work on affiliate marketing.
Planning out your productive hour time slots whether it is 2, 4, 0r 8 hours is the best new year resolution you can make yourself for 2012.
Leave a comment below and share what is on your calendar this year? Or if you do not have a calendar yet then do you think you need one and do you plan to create on?

Rick, I plan to have 2 hour work a day. I break down my task like writing content, backlinking, and outsourcing each in 30 mins slot.
So far I have completed a few tasks last couple days. I hope I could have this moment and stick with my weekly schedule.
Thanks for your schedule tips. It helps!

@Kent,
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your plan. I’m glad the plan is helpful.
I suggest you keep your schedule right next to you computer so you can see it as a constant reminder. Also, are you using a timer so you know when your 30 minutes are up? If not, I recommend using one.

It would be nice to have a schedule. It really helps in moving in a positive direction. It’s really bad for the creative side of of things.
As for myself, if I can get started, I just stay started. It’s not uncommon for me to work 8 hours straight without a break. Yeah I know I’ve tried to break that bad habit here of late, by doing a few house chores along the way.
Sometimes, the powers that be just grind me to a halt when I just can’t seem to break through to the other side. I’ll take a 6 hour break come back and solve the problem or issue of concern in a matter of minutes.
Schedule …… I’ll pass. I think I’ll opt for discipline instead.

@Jeffrey Morgan,
First, I love the new gravatar. Second, a schedule can create the discpline. It’s like developing a new habit. I do understand that a schedule can be bad when it comes to being creative but as you also mention there need to be breaks…forced breaks.
For me, I have to have a schedule or I end up floundering around all day. I hope you won’t think less of me.
I’m glad you stopped by to share.
Take care pal!

Hey Rick, very interesting and organized modus operandi. You really need to plan if you really wish to get positive results. Often people fail in their strategies because they do not know where they are actually heading.

Hi Rick,
Is looks to me that you are much more organized than I. This is good though, I really like your yearly product promotion calendar. This is one thing that I really need to focus on if I wish to take my business to the next level.
Thanks for the tips,
~Jeremy

@Jeremy Ruggles,
Thanks for stopping by. It has taken me a while to get organized and even now I slip back into some of my old non-organized habits.
Good luck to you!

Hey Rick, I really like your idea of maintaining a promotional calender. It can save me from the slippages I often face, mostly I have so many things on my mind but am not able to concentrate on one at a time. This will lay out a clear plan in advance so that I’d know when I need to do something and when move to the other. Thanks buddy.

@Sarah Reece,
Thanks for stopping by. The promotional calendar can really help but I have to admit that I sometimes slip and get behind. But it definitely helps me most of the time.
Take care!

Hi Rick. Planning is the key to success with no way around. Promotional calendar is a really good idea. There is more chance of selling products if the timing of the promotion matches with the potential buyers. I guess I can start promoting products for Mothers day, although I am a little bit late.
