Is it too late to get started in Affiliate Marketing?
I received an email from a subscriber (Gary).
Gary asked: I am a newbie and I am thinking about getting involved in affiliate marketing – Do you think affiliate marketing is saturated? It seems every guru is selling an affiliate marketing program to teach others how to do affiliate marketing.
At first I was a little taken back by the question, then I started talking to my wife about the question and came to the conclusion that if one person asked the question there are probably others that have the same question but my not ask it. So watch the video to see my answer.
Affiliate Marketing is a method of online marketing and can be used in any niche.
As an affiliate marketer, I promote products online from treadmills to fine china – and everything in between. Most often I promote physical products.
There is a common misconception that Affiliate Marketing is all about selling ebooks or info-products about Affiliate Marketing. However, there is actually Affiliate Marketing as a niche and Affiliate Marketing as a method…
Affiliate Marketing is just like a commission-based sales job. A commission is earned on every sale you make.
The commission can be earned on a digital product, a physical product, a service, or even a CPA offer (Cost Per Action).
Yes, Affiliate Marketing as a niche is quite saturated. There are many experts who have been successfully promoting affiliate programs for years and do a very good job of teaching it to others. Matt Carter and his Rapid Product Formula is just one example.
Before teaching others, it is best to have your own experience and ultimately your own product to compete in the Affiliate Marketing niche.
But Affiliate Marketing as a model, well that’s a different story. The Affiliate Marketing model is wide open to anyone of any experience level within any specific niche.
As an affiliate marketer you don’t have to carry inventory, process payments or deal directly with customers.
If you look around, you’ll notice there are affiliate programs available for just about everything you can imagine. Everything from Wal-Mart to Netflix to iTunes.
People are shopping online now more than ever, so this is a great time to get into Affiliate Marketing!

You’re killing me here Rick! The video was absolutely perfect, I mean perfect. Clear, concise, well thought out, perfect presentation, not to fast, clearly spoken …….. and no opt-in at the end of the presentation ?????
Man, this is old school marketing here. This is the way it’s is suppose to be done!!!
Where’s the beef ????? Where’s the opt-in ????? Where’s the landing page for “Ricks Newsletter For Beginners” or “Ricks One Step Manual For Understanding Affiliate Marketing For Beginners”.

Thanks for the positive comments on the video.
Don’t worry Jeffrey, I’ll get you to opt-in at some point in the near future. Just look to the right of the video for the opt-tin boxes. Maybe next video I do something like have a big red arrow pointing to the opt-in box on the right and flashing lights.

Hey Rick,
I definitely agree with Jeffrey, great job with explaining what affiliate marketing really is. I know when a lot of people are just starting out it can be confusing and they don’t totally understand because no one has taken the time to explain it to them. Everywhere they turn people are promoting “how to” do affiliate marketing products so they are under the impression that’s what it’s all about.
I am really surprised you don’t offer a report explaining this or already have your own course teaching others how to get started. Yep, that should be your next step my friend. Show them that you can make good money promoting physical products just like you can digital. I know plenty of people who would buy that today!

Thanks for coming over and for the advice. I have been so focused in creating my own affiliate sites that I did not even think about creating a report. I will add that to my BIG list of things to do.
I appreciate you keeping me on my toes and making sure I offer the best information for others interested in promoting physical products.

I agree, it isn’t too late to get started. We are just beginning to shift all our communication and actions to the cyber space, and since even shopping has become virtual, being an affiliate marketer has never been such a good choice as it is now. The only thing I’d like to warn newbies about is that they should keep their eyes open all the time for the changes in this area, because there is always something new that comes up, and something old that gets useless.

At 51, I thought I was too old to get started, but now that I have been in affiliate marketing and blogging for 6 months, I can say that it is like I have a new lease on life.
No money yet, but the excitement of it is worth for now until I get some time under my belt.

It’s never too late to get started with affiliate marketing. Some friends of mine started few years ago and now they are earning big bucks. Now I’m convinced to try it too.

I wonder who is thinking that it is too late to start. It all depends on how you do it because if you are patient and focused then affiliate marketing will really do well for you regardless of when you start.

Pretty tough competition for a limited market. I would either a) drop it and move on, or b) come up with a very creative way for people to cash in on this ‘dead hot market’ – and develop or promote from that angle.

Hi there,
First, i want to say who i`m. My Name is Sandy. I came from Germany, i`m a 37- Mum and i`m an accountant. I never heard about affiliate marketing or blogging or twitter, FB and all the other platforms.
My new boyfriend had an own online business and every day and evening we sit on our couch, and he talks about all the methods and what plugins he found and so much more.
i don`t understand what he means *gg* so, i start learning and reading all about them and i find this all so intersting, that i start my own blog in July.
My blog is new and my baby. I learn so much about:
quality content, what is a link? What is a backlink? How can i promote my blog… like google my blog? when google don`t like my blog, what can i do?
So, i think it`s not too late for all people to learn others and its not toooooo late for affiliate marketing.
I wish you all much success and i`m thankful for sharing all your tips. i`ts a very interesting business and the people in Germany don`t share….

When choosing to get into affliate marketing ,You want to think about sort term and long term goals.Personally creating Your Own Product and getting others to sell it ,I believe is your best choice.It may take a little more work and research but the rewards are well worth it.
